I am in the process of finishing the wiring up on the 700 and working on the winch as I type. I purchased a WARN Vantage 3000 and noticed the following.
There is not a relay, nor is there a 12v switched wire. In other words I am going direct with all wiring to the WARN contactor. The only switched wire is from the winch in/out switch on my handlebars. My question is this……..
Should I put an inline 30a fuse in the main battery power wire before it hits the contactor? The schematic does NOT show anything but a direct connection of positive and negative from battery to the main contactor. I am wondering if it would be a smart preventative idea to put an inline fuse in. And is 30a sufficient, too much, too small? Am waiting for answers before moving forward. Hoping all of you who have installed prior will have some good info.
Thank you in advance,
Matty
