I recently purchased a Polaris RZR XC 900, waited and waited for Yamaha to make something that meets my needs and I got tired of waiting. I need to put a winch on my RZR and I know that many people on this forum have either worked with Polaris guys or may possibly even own a Polaris (gasp). I am wanting to put a Superwinch Terra 45SR on my machine but am having issues finding a mount plate for it. I have contacted CMP twice, once I wast told to get the 1608F plate and the other time I was told we are not sure (confidence inspiring right). KFI makes a plate but it will only suit the Terra 35 since the bolt patterns are different. What my question really boils down to is this: Is the 35SR enough winch for a UTV or should I get a plate that will mount and modify to fit, if needed, and shove the 45SR in there so I know that I have enough power for whatever I run into? I will use the winch for pulling the UTV into the bed of my truck at what I estimate to be about a 45 degree angle. The 35SR is rated to pull 4500 lbs rolling load up a 45 degree angle.

I don’t mud ride but do love to Spring snow ride so I know eventually that the winch will be pulling dead, hung up weight. I think for most needs the 35SR will be sufficient and I know I can always add a snatch block if needed but I like to keep things simple and avoid that if I can.
