First time posting on here, but hoping to become a part of the community.
I recently acquired an 2012 Grizzly 450 EPS, it is the camo/hunter model and has 900 miles on it.
This is what I know about it:
It has sat for a year until recently when a new carb was installed. Still has old fuel and fuel line. It does start and run, but not great.
It had a snorkel installed and I can confirm it has been in water at least up to the handle bars. No water in engine oil, did not check diffs yet.
It did not do this until we brought it home but sometimes the P,N,H do not light up on the display as you shift into the different gears, and few times after shifting it would make a horrible grinding sound but would stop after wiggling the shifter. Now this was the first couple times of me shifting this quad so could have been my error maybe ?
Other than that there seems to be some squeeks, maybe some bad wheel bearings and torn driveshaft boots, brakes are mush, coolant is low and so on.
So obviously many things on the to do list, but my question is in which order should I attack this ? Are there certain things I should check first specific to these machines ? I have already removed all the racks, bumper and body panels just make things easier to work on. Should my focus first be on making sure the transmission doesn’t have issues ? Or maybe something in respect to it possibly being sunk..?
Thanks for any input, hopefully I can have this thing on the trails sooner than later !
