Water in clutch housing

Hey all.. I was out for the weekend and did some quadding on the beach. Went to cross a shallow spot that was not very shallow. Basically I sank not quite up to the seat. I did not swamp the machine, it stayed running but did take some time to get out of the water. Once I did get it out I pulled the plug on the clutch cover and I had a good amount of water come out.. Should I pull the cover and clean it up, or is there any need for that? let me know what you think, thanks…
