I just got back a couple of days ago from a great ride out in Silverton Colorado.
My oldest boy and I coming from Missouri met with others from California, New Mexico and locals from the great state of Colorado.
We rode 5 days covering most of the major passes in that area excluding Black Bear and Ophir Pass. We had 5 days of blue skies with no rain. It was still a little early for the Aspens to be full yellow but they were still beautiful to say the least. Here are a few pictures from the ride.
We stayed in Silverton at small motel called the Triangle motel. It was clean and right on the OHV route. Parking was a little bit of a challenge but if you haven’t been to Silverton parking is a challenge about everywhere.
We even managed to see one of the locals (Ridgway) on top of Corkscrew Pass. It was good to see Ridgway in the mountains in his usual habitat.
On top of Engineer Pass
Looking into Yankee Boy Basin
Gold Lake at the end of Arrastra Gulch
The magnificent 7 at Kite Lake
Wgc skipping across the headwaters of the Rio Grande
Coming down Kendall Mountain overlooking Silverton
