Just returned from our annual Taylor Park, 4th of July vacation. Vettesplus and his wife met us up there for the first 4 days. A little rainy the first couple of days, then the weather was perfect. Had a black bear visit our camp Tuesday night. He poked around the atv’s a little, tearing one of my cup holder bags off. Sniffed around Becky’s a little, poking a few holes in her front bag. He woke us up when he knocked over a chair and pulled the ice chest out from under the camper. He then proceeded to tear the lid off, and helped himself to three beers and a blueberry zing tea. There was nothing else in there, other than canned drinks. Saw him sitting about 100′ away, by the light of a flashlight, while we were cleaning up the mess. This was around 4:15 in the morning, so it was still pretty much dark. Nothing would have showed up in a picture except for his glowing eyes.
Enough of the big drift on top of Tincup Pass had melted so that you could get an atv through. Someone decided to give it a go in his full size Chevy pickup. Not sure what he was thinking, or how they will recover his truck without it going the rest of the way over the edge.
The wife and I kind of took it easy this year, and still managed to put on 220 miles. Had an issue with the speedo on my atv, so some times it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Didn’t seem to affect anything else, but I think I will still get it looked at.
Here are our pictures.
