My throttle started sticking today on my Honda 420, haven’t had an issue with it so far running it. Been working up in Fort McMurray in -20 to -40 temps during December. Came back after Christmas and its a beautiful -19 out today and I’ve suddenly got a throttle that doesn’t instantly let off when I release it. Instead it mostly lets off and then eases off slowly over the next 1-2 seconds. It’s also inconsistent sometimes it feels normal and other times it 2-3 seconds before it finally releases.
The quad has been sitting in my garage over the Christmas break but I noticed the drive up it has a coat of road grime all over the front, 5hr drive from Edmonton. So I’m wondering if the throttle just has some
1) grime packed into it
2) potentially partially frozen? (Quad was running for ~4hrs didn’t get any better)
3) spring just gave out (is a honda 420, 2013 throttle spring loaded?)
Any easy way to diagnose and potentially fix this? Just basic tools currently (couple of screw drivers)
