Sportsman 800 Creeping/Squeeling Belt

Hey guys, I’m new to the forums but have been reading for years. Last week I traded my 2 Hondas, which is all I’ve ridden/known my entire life, for an 05 Sportsman 800. I fixed some issues with bearings and bushings which were bad but the clutch has me puzzled. I shredded a belt at low speed and when I replaced with an EPI severe duty, it now creeps much worse than it did and is impossible to put in gear while running. If I hold the break to stop creeping it squeals the belt. I found my belt is riding on the outside of the primary so I pulled the secondary to remove a shim. However there are no shims to remove. So through the forum I’ve narrowed it down to I have to move the motor. My question is: if I move the motor is it as simple as remove the bolts from all the motor mounts and moving it over until the belt can be aligned? And would it be possible/easier to have the secondary machined down some so it sits closer to the motor and where I can adjust with shims from there? I’ve already checked my idle rpm, front motor mount, cleaned up the primary, and double checked that my belt is correct. Any help would be appreciated as I’m getting pretty frustrated here. I’ve been deep inside my Hondas before so I’m fairly mechanically competent, but I’m flying by the seat of my pants with a CVT, so excuse my ignorance here. Thanks in advance
