Hello, I have a 2000 polaris sportsman 500. The quad recently had the winch redone and when i redid it I took out the solenoid and just ran it directly from the battery, to a switch, then to the winch. Now I go to start the quad using jumper cables (since my battery is bad) and it fires right up but as soon as i take the jumper cables off of the battery the quad boggs down and shuts off. Just put in a bran new rectifier and when i hook the battery up to a meter it is charging up to 14 volts. Could it be a stator, or is it supposed to do that? Also if this helps, for the longest time, if my battery was completely dead, the quad would not pull start, but if i hooked up even a tiny bit of juice, it would pull start immediately. Thanks
