Okay so long story short I have had a 2013 Can-Am Outlander 1000xt for a couple years now and I love it. Some minor failures that I do not think should have happened but they are 80+ hp machines, parts will wear/fail. Looking on craigslist the other day and ran across a 2015 Sportsman 1000 with 7 hours for a deal imo, so i went and bought it. I like going fast but I also like a nice ride and reliability. So I read up on the 2015 Sportsman and there are a couple flaws that can be fixed (would of fixed them anyway) just like the Outlanders have as well. I am nonbias and not brand loyal at all. Whatever I think performs the best and looks good I will get. So it is hard to go to a forum and get a real answer because yall are going to say po po is the best and can-am is junk blah blah and so will the Can-am forum about polaris, or there are always a couple trolls that are pissed at whatever brand and they stay on the forum to down them. So I decided to race the 2 (after reading for weeks about the popo) as close to each other as I could and that would make my mind up. The po po won every race. I had the same weight riders and we switched, same size tire (po po has 14s), same air pressure, same amount of fuel in the tanks, we kicked the same everytime on these videos. There were several that the other left first or the can-am couldnt stay on the ground but these videos below are after suspension tweaks and the ones that were fair. Even though the po po won the Can-am definitely has more brute bottom end but after that the polaris will walk the dog on it. Remember this is a very short race, if it would of been longer it would of been even worse for the outty. This is how I decided to keep the po po and sell the can-am. I think and have read about clutching on the sportsman so with clutching and exhaust it will be even faster and we all know a better ride than can-am. Just thought I would share this for anybody that is in the same boat I was in. Also I will add if you hate polaris or something about the sportsman do not get one because of this post lol. The polaris is faster but it is not that much faster so would not be worth getting it if you dont like something about them.
