The secondary is normally spread by threading that spreader bolt into the secondary clutch. Well, I threaded it in earlier and it worked perfect, had decent resistance, but nothing crazy.
Now, I try to spread the clutch with the spreader bolt and the bolt threads in perfectly by hand until it meets resistance, then its like it hit a brick wall. I’m afraid to horse on it, so I just let it sit. Is it normal for it to turn super hard to try and force the sheaves open? It never turned real hard before when i did this. I’m only using a 1/4 inch ratchet, but still….
Does the secondary sheaves have to go on any certain way? I see by the splines they appear that they could go on any 1 of 3 ways depending how you rotate the sheaves and line the splines up.
Any suggestions?
Btw, the VFJ primary is pretty amazing! :yahoo:
