Scrambler 90 autochoke malfunction

Hi, I have a 2002 Scrambler 90 with the autochoke. It is very hard to start but once it does start it runs perfect and will restart if warm. I suspected the choke as they seem to go bad often. I removed the choke assembly from the carb and put my thumb over the hole and it starts perfectly. It appears that the choke plunger is stuck in the out position blocking the extra fuel it needs for a cold start. I was wondering what would be the best way to fix this. Convert it over to a manual choke or purchase a new electric autochoke? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
