When I first bought it, I felt like it was lacking in power for being a big bore. The low end just seemed weak. I put an HMF exhaust and and HMF optimizer on it, as well as a UNI Filter. I also got 25" Bighorns. Got it all tuned up and took it for a ride, it was a bit better, but still less than impressive. I must add that the handling / cornering on this machine is amazing. It seems very "flickable" and always very controllable in sketchy situations. So the only thing about it that I don’t like is its general lack of power.
Today I rode a 2007 Grizzly with a clutch kit, LRD exhuast, programmer, 2" lift and 27" GBC Executioners. The EPS was nice, but the machine was overall not as impressive as I thought it would be. It did have a bit more pep then my Rincon, but not much more. And it did top out at almost the same speed as the Rincon does. It did not corner as well as the Rincon, and it felt like the front end dove into turns. This may have been because of the big tires and lift, but i am not sure.
I guess i’m just wondering if I have been expecting too much out of the Rincon. I read numerous articles and such about the more modern big utilities, and it seemed unanimous that the Grizzly was better than the Rincon, but I did not think it was. I actually thought they were incredibly comparable, each had things better than the other. Anyone else have any experience with these machines, or other big bore utilities? I like my Rincon, but i would not be opposed to selling it and switching to something else if it was better.
