Hello from SoCal. Originally got into Honda ATVs back in in the 3-wheeler days starting with a 1983 200x for recreation & racing but eventually sold them all focusing on family. recently had an opportunity to pick up a coupe of fairly well used 1999 TRX250 Recons from a family friend and couldn’t pass them up. I know these aren’t the biggest, most powerful or sophisticated units but they are just what we were looking for in terms of reliable & easy to maneuver size for bopping around the mountain trails on our property in Utah and for day trip excursions in the SoCal desert.
Looking forward to getting back up to speed on the Honda ATVs.
Short-term looing to do general maintenance to get these bikes reliably trail ready and a few tires — think I’m about there on that. Then fix up/straighten up racks & bumpers as someone apparently did a little bumper car action with one of them at some point. Then will look into a few upgrades:
– addition of 12v charger
– might want to see if a way to add a gear indicator to wife’s bike (not good at remembering what gear she is in)
– maybe a few minor performance improvements
