Rear diff advice . Need help fast

Ok long story short. I have an outlander 1000 2012. Original rear diff went out at about 1000 miles. Bought a new one from a can am dealer on ebay. Almost instant it was very noisy. made it maybe 100 miles. full of metal and pinion gear coming apart. I just got one built by mudnwheels. IM going on a big ride in the mountains on thursday and didnt want to take a chance with my noisey rear diff. My question is , is there any special secrets that i need to now installing the rear diff. Is factory specs important? im a ford tech by trade so very mechanical inclinde. After putting my rear diff in tonight . with no wheels on and on jack stands. I can turn the rearend over by hand with it in neutral i can hear the rear diff like a gear noise. i may be just parinoid . but before i run it thought i would check in here first. thanks for the help as i need it fast before my ride thursday .
