So one day I hopped on my quad and the start button no longer worked. I thought maybe the battery had died but realized later it was something electrical.
Jumping the solenoid would work. The lights kind of worked but then gave up and no longer work now. Pulled the solenoid off and realized that one of the small wires on the solenoid had rusted off its connector that connects to the post under the battery side of the soilenoid, and come loose. Cleaned all connections and reattached. No luck.
Replaced the solenoid yesterday and no luck. Tested the fuse block in a bag thing right by the solenoid and got 9.5 volts on one side and the same on the other.
Found another fuse in a bag under the hood and it had 9.5 on side and about 6.0 on the other? I was going to replace that one. Is that something I can get at a normal auto parts store? and whats it called?
Also I forgot that I took out the front fuse block thing, but I can no longer jump the solenoid and get it to crank.
Another piece of info the odometer does work when the keys on. No speedo or anything though. And for awhile before this all started happening the speedo pod was a little intermittent.
Thanks for the help everyone. Just really need to get this back to the switch start before winter plowing comes around and pull starting becomes more of a pain.
