Sooo… I pouted 🙁 for awhile then found a FB site that was dedicated to CanAm Clutching and Tuning. I posted on Wed. about my concerns and got replies right away from a few guys that were willing to help. Did a quick video of WOT in low and posted that as per my instructions. A GREAT guy stepped up to the plate and walked me thru everything I needed to do. Step by step instructions and exactly the weights he thought I should install according to my tires and riding style. Shawn Walker is the MAN for the QSC Predator. :th_smiliethumbsup::th_smiliethumbsup: He said he had one and did a LOT of tuning on his so knew it quite well. Spoke to him on the phone a couple of times when I had some problems and got everything worked out.
So by Friday afternoon (didn’t do anything Wed. or Thurs) I had everything done and went for another test run. Went and played in a gravel pit for 30 minutes and boy this sure had some MAJOR torque on the bottom and mid range. (I don’t care about top end speed). But no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t get a wheelie out of it. :th_smiliefrustrated ( one of my goals ) It had so much torque it just kept spinning all 4 of my 28” Mega Mayhems. Don’t forget I have the Max with the longer wheel base.
So left the gravel pit and headed across the hi-way. Hit the hi-way crossing (pavement) at about 6mph and pinned it. Still didn’t lift the tires off the pavement, but the front end sure did come up to the top of the shocks. Well just maybe if I tried a little harder. Turned around and waited on the pavement approach to the hi-way and waited for traffic. All clear…. Then pinned it…….. WOW the front end just popped right up and away I went. :yahoo::th_smiliethumbsup: I’m guessing it came up a good 2ft. but don’t know for sure. I’m a HAPPY CAMPER now.
Will be going out tomorrow with friends and camera/video and will get some action shots then. Will try to post something after that ride.
