2006 Outlander 400 Max. Recently it started running really crappy nut I was able to baby it back to my shop. Not sure if it ran out of fuel or there was a fuel delivery or carburation proble,. So I filled up the fuel tank from a jerry can. Now it starts and runs but if I give it more than half throttle it bogs down. I changed the pulg — no difference. It acts like it is not getting enough fuel so its either the carburator or the fuel delivery system.
So I pulled the carb and am looking it over thinking it may have a clogged jet from debris introduced when I dumped the fuel from the jerry can in.
Near as I can tell the machine has no fuel pump but gets fuel to the carb by pressurizing the fuel tank via an impulse line from the intake manifold… Correct?
Thinking about taking the carb into the Can-Am shop to be cleaned out/rebuilt since my old eyes are not real good for small detail work. Comments?
Any othert suggestions? Thinking it may be a good idea to cut one of the fuel lines and install a small fuel filter………
