I would start out the ride with a clean radiator and everything would be fine. Washed after every ride. By the time the day went on and after going through all the mud holes, wasn’t intentionally going through you just cant avoid, the temperature would start to come down slower and slower.
Then later in the day when we wouldn’t be in areas with much water the mud would get caked on the radiator and start to over heat and take longer to cool down with fan on. Even bogged down when to high like it is supposed to.
So I know what my issue is and it is mud in radiator. I am looking for solutions that people have done or after market parts that help prevent some of the mud from splashing in radiator without blocking air. ???
A lot people in area said they always carry water bottles to spray in radiator to wash them out during the ride. This worked when I poked small hole in water bottle and sprayed in radiator. Even suggested backing up in "cleaner" water to back wash radiator. Hard to believe they design these know the places people ride without having a way of preventing mud build up.
But I am looking for a better solution than just carrying water bottles around to spray radiator during day long rides in wet mud.
