Hey yall, Just picked up a 2010 outlaw 50 4 stroke for my 5 yr old girl. used project quad i traded for, seems like its not been trashed . Initially it had the oh so common hard starting problem so i cleaned the carb adjusted the slide needle and went up a size on the pilot. Well that fixed the starting problem, starts super easy now although its running a bit rich even after adjusting the air screw. but was rideable. new spark plug and gapped,new stator and pick up, (it came with it since previous owner thought it was going out,new rmstator in box) . It quickly got more sluggish untill it wont even pull itself empty. put a different ignition coil on and didnt change anything.cleaned/removed air filter,no change,turned off fuel valve no change all the way to running dry. It only runs with throttle in full position and it wont rev enough to turn the wheels (off ground), unhooked the safety on the throttle, didnt change. It sounds like the rev limiter for reverse does on my wifes 325 trail boss. Is there a parking brake limiter? (i cant find one,just the starter switch). i keep reading about a bridge on the cdi to unlock the limiter for when kid gets better at riding, but this one does not have one or a place for it. Is it an aftermarket.
Im going to get a carb rebuild for it next but , dont really think thats the problem.
This thing is really getting on my nerves, never had problems like this with honda,yamaha,kawasaki,suzuki!
