Outlander L 570 Radiator Mud Trap!

This weekend my GF’s Outty went into limp mode twice due to mud build up.

Luckily the first limp mode happened just as we were at a spray off area where we were staying and the second time a bar owner allowed us to use his hose.

The first instance was after she had been going through some heavy thick mud, but the second time we were merely just running through trails with several water crossings and a little mud.

With the radiator leaning back at the top, it acts as a mud catch and doesn’t allow for the mud to drain off.

I’m looking for options other than a relocate kit that may help. There is no radiator guard, just open fins, would a guard help deter some of the mud, or enough to make a difference? I also thought about placing some type of screen behind the large opening just under the plastic honeycomb grill on the front of the machine to help divert some of the mud from the radiator.

What has everyone else done?
