So I have owned over 25 vehicles in my life, and every one I did an oil change on every 2500-3k miles.
No matter how new or what they were, synthetic or conventional, they would be close to ‘black’ around that mileage.
I bought this 1997 4Runner, and I’ve been lazy and she is at about 4700K miles and the oil level dropped about a 1/4 quart but the oil is clean as can be…looks like the dipstick was dipped in maple syrup. As if I was at 1500 miles.
I use Fram Extra guard on all my rides…
My question is should I change it every 3k, or as it gets dirty. I’m not a fluid expert but does conventional break down regardless of cleanliness?
At this point, it seems 10k would make it like the 3k I did on all my vehicles.
Any input is welcomed.
