I just bought a (new) 2015 Sportsman 570 SP. Upon going through the manual, I have a couple questions (as an anal redundant person such as myself would).
A). Polaris says that for extreme use/conditions, I might want to upgrade my battery. Seems like they know that it is substandard, but anyways, I plan to use this for plowing snow just a tad this winter (seriously….just a tad. My driveway is pretty short). The machine will be garaged, and should not really be exposed to EXTREME cold, although (obviously) I will be installing my 3500lb winch to operate the plow. I was kinda thinking that the original battery…even if it is crap, should get me by….at least for the first year. I wanted to get some of your opinions as you guys REALLY seem to know alot about these machines. I’ll change it if I have to, but my financial advisor (and co-habitation specialist) is already starting to give me the raised eyebrow about the spending. (I think it may have been the entire F-150 Pickup bed full of stuff that HAD to go with the new machine :naughty: )
B) In the book under troubleshooting, I noticed that it talked about too high/too low octane, but I couldn’t find where they actually TOLD me what octane this thing likes. Anybody know? My choices are limited to what they have at the pump, but if I know what to aim for, at least I can keep that in mind…or adjust with additive if it is too low.
As usual, thanks in advance!
