Odometer reading after replacement

I have a 2009 Sportsman 800 that was recently rolled. The ATV itself is working just fine but we had to replace a few things one of which was the gauge cluster as the old one broke due to the roll.

The ATV had around 2550 miles on it when it was rolled and rather than getting a new cluster for $300 we were able to get a used one off ebay for $130. Everything works again except for the fuel but I think that probably has something to do with the float in the tank rather than what it has to do with the gauge and I will look more into that later.

My main question is the replacement cluster says it has 9438 miles on it and while I do not really care what it says as I nave no intention of selling any time soon, I am wondering if the ECM actually has stored the original miles and if so is it possible to go to a dealer and have them pull a readout of the original miles just so if I ever do sell it I can show what the mileage actually is? If not its not a huge deal. The machine runs fine and I will probably have it for another 5 years anyway. I was just curious.

Thanks for anyone’s responses.
