So I am helping my friend out with his quad. He picked up a 2011 outlander 500 DPS cheap. He said it had a bad ticking noise so he tried to adjust the valves to no avail. He brought it to me and stated it had a rod knock or so he thought. I pulled the heads and found bad wear indicating piston slap. I replaced the pistons with wisecos and had the cylinders bored. I had the haeds gone though and replaced all the valve and seals with a valve grind. I put it together and now it won’t start. I have spark. I have fuel pressure at the injectors. I double checked my mechanical timing and valve adjustment and everything is spot on. It won’t start even with a shot of starting fluid.
I did have one code P1202. I get conflicting info on the web. One article states it is a oil pressure switch still closed and the other article states gas mass sensor circuit frequency high.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
