1997 sportsman front hub rebuild

For a torn CV boot in the front, the previous owner put a new axle/boot which had no problems, until I backed it out of the garage and the front left wheel bound up. I took it to a polaris repair shop, found that the bearings and the hillard clutch were chewed up. The mechanic said it looked like there wasn’t any lube in the hub, and then quoted me nearly 2k$ for a new strut, hub, and bearings and labor(5 hrs at 80$). I’ve found the parts I need for a fraction of the the shop price. There seems to be a seal that is missing from the hub. Does this need a special tool to press a new seal back in?

My Trx350d ran fine but the battery was bad so I installed a new one and now it don’t have any spark
Battery is fully charged
Checked all the fuses in the battery box
Ignition lights work
Head lights work
Took apart the on off switch on the left handle bar has good connection

I can’t figure out how to find the service manual to down load for the troubleshooting
If any one could help me I would appreciate it

2005 660 Hitch bolt plugs?

Hey all,

Brand new to the forum. Just purchased a 2005 660. I want to put a hitch on it and have read threads on how to do so, but when I went to look at the bolt holes, it appears there are some sort of plugs in there? They don’t have much of a head on them and I cannot tell if there are threaded or pressed in there. Ill attach a pic. Can anyone tell me what I have going on here?

Thanks much, and I am looking forward to reading more on the forum!

Nick

Wet Clutch Shoes Still Good?

Tore into my wet clutch for the first time this afternoon. Fairly simple process too!

Thought I would get some opinions from some of my fellow riders. I think it looks fine. I’m gonna put some slugs in it while I have it torn down.

There are some extremely small ridges in the drum and I can only feel them if I use my fingernail.

Mangled front subframe bumper

Well guys. As my luck has it. I was going about 60 km/h when my left rear wheel decided to leave the quad….

It wobbled for a split second and poof, j have a trike…. The hub dug in and I was headed for the ditch fast, I was off camber before I knew what to do. Hit the brakes and roll, jump and bail, or ride it out. Well I seen a line through the trees, logs and rocks, spin went for it. I was doing great till this grandfather of a tree decided to stand up and stop us in our tracks. When I hit this giant tree I was probably doing 20-30km/h. I hit and the bike wheelied up the tree. Wow what a freaking ride that was. I put it in reverse and drove upbto the trail. Luckily the studs were still there so I robbed a few lugs and back to the truck I went. Amazingly I made it back safe and sound. And the tools I had to work with was a open end wrench and vise grips. It worked but fellas. Get a good kit together. Cause this is never going to happen to me…….right.

The crazy thing is 6 weeks ago this Tuesday I had a pretty bad quad crash fracturing 2 ribs and this was my first ride back in the saddle.

Now I’m having thoughts of giving up this sport. Fixing the machine and selling it, then what am I going to do.

The last accident hurt me pretty good and I’m just getting back to full range of motion. This last crash where a tire falls off and I’m out of control ripping through the woods literally. It scared the you know what out of me.

So now I need to locate a 2009-2011 front subframe bumper. Brp wants $250 for it…
