2005 outlander fuel issues

Hello all, This is my first post here. Been reading allot of threads for quite some time but having trouble with my outlander so I thought it was time to join. Its a 2005 bombardier outlander 400. I use it mainly for hunting and just giving my little grand daughter a ride. Its always been garaged and not many hours on it since I bought it new. Only trouble till now I had was the voltage regulator I had to replace. I hear that’s common. About 6 months ago it would only run to half throttle like it was starving for gas. I took it to a local guy and he cleaned the carb and got it going but he said it looked like it had pieces of inside of gas line stopping it up. I rode it the other night and its doing the same thing. Tried it again today and now seams like its wanting to flood and running bad. I called the dealer where I bought it new and they said new fuel lines would run about $150. Does it take special lines? I love working on cars but never worked on a motor cycle or atv. Is it a hard job to change the fuel lines and take carb off and clean it? Is this a common problem on these bikes?

2009 Ranger Crew Starting Problem

OK, so it all started when I heard the click and the crew would not start. Used a screw driver to jump the starter solenoid and it fired right up. Ordered two new "Amazon" starter solenoids (just in case). First one would not work. Tried the second one and crew fired right up. Problem solved???? Not! Third attempt to start would not work this I tried the screwdriver jump again. Would not work. It was dark so I assumed batter was low. Towed the crew home and tried the screw driver jump the next morning. Big arc but no start. Pulled the starter out, took it apart and cleaned it. Bench tested it and it spins like new. Re-installed the starter and tried to jump start with screw driver. No luck.

Error code says 22. Short to ground. 4 position Fuse panel shows 9.5 volts at the top fuse, 0 volts at #2, 12.5 at #3 and 12.5 at #4. This seems very weird.
Have tried pulling the negative lead off the battery and using a 12v test light to determine if there is a short but no light. Seems I must have a short somewhere but the test light to battery terminal (+ or -) shows no light. Thus no short? How can the starter perform a bench test just fine but when it is hooked up only to the battery wires (+ and -) at the rear seat location (but not actually placed in the starter hole) it will not operate? Big arch when using battery jumper cables again leading me to believe there is a short somewhere.
Any ideas or suggestions. Very frustrated at this point.

Wondering about owner experiences with snow plow

I’m a new ATV owner and recently purchased a full size Ranger 570 EPS. I live in Connecticut where we get generally moderate snowfall. I purchased the ATV for work on a 2 acre lot where we are preparing to build a new home. A gravel driveway is in place and is about 600 feet long. Most of driveway is reasonably level with one section of 10 – 12% grade.

In general I’m wondering about the experience of others using a similar ATV for plowing. Does the machine have the guts to handle the job if dealing with a foot or more of snow?

All relevant input would be appreciated.

Led Flood Lamps

Hi guys, I have a 2009 Polaris Sportsman 400 HO. I bought two 600 lumens flood lamps for Plowing season. I have a High Beam and low beam switch(factory). Both lights put out 20 watts. Can I tap into the High Beam wire? I only have low beams on this atv so I assume there is an extra wire for the high beams. Since it’s such low wattage, do I need a relay or should I tap into the low beams? I need help. Thanks guys

CV Boot Help….pic attached

I have a 2014 Sportsman 400, and I was greasing everything and when I dropped the rear hub the cv/axle moved i didnt think much of it, however it seems that the axle pulled loose from the inner joint, and i need to get the boot off so I can make sure its assembled correctly. I can get the larger clamp off the boot, I have looked all over the web and cant seem to find anything that helps. If anyone can shed some light on this I will be thankful.

howdy from western washington

Just bought a 2000 400 scrambler a little over a week ago. We (my son and grandkids) took it and our other motly collection of quads (a honda trx 250x, a honda trx400ex, and an mz 100atv) trail riding. The machine had set idle for several years and pretty much all i did was change fluids, lubed it, adjusted the chain, and cleaned out the fuel system and off we went for two days of riding. I will say that it is an impressively well built machine. I unfotunately didnt know about seating the starter rope and am now rebuilding the starter due to about a cup full of muddy water finding its way in!
On the plus side there are grease fittings everywhere, something honda should do. Heck, they should have them on my superduty!

Bolt in transmission

Hey guys I have a problem I have a 2014 polaris sportsman 400 it has 2200kms on it now I have found a bolt stuck to the magnet I haven’t heard any noise coming from the bike or anything change wit slipping etc beside of the clucking noise when it’s costing down a ruff hill but that was there the very first day I bought and road the bike. I’ve looked online and it says ppl hear it all the time I’m debating on breaking it to the dealer but and I got warranty but I don’t want them to take it apart and then say it’s my fault and say it wasn’t change enough and then say here’s your bike back and a big ol bill cause my dealer sometimes is a bunch of turds most of the time.
