Turner axles?

This winter I am looking at building up my sportsman 850. I currently am running cobra axles and am pretty happy with them but am still breaking them occasionally. One thing on my list is rear axles for sure. I have heard good things about turner axles but also heard he is a smaller shop so if you break one the turnaround time can be kinda long. Looking for feedback or any experiences with turner. Turner makes 3-4 different axles and am not completely sure which ones to go with.

Also I looked at Minotaur axles by moto monster at quadna. They are out of Rockford Illinois. They fixed up one of my cobra axles and had great customer service. There Minotaur is there best axle guy said it was on par with the turners. I liked that they are located much closer to me for shipping parts but don’t want to be blindly taking a chance on them either.

Does any one know a different place to get boots for turner axles. If I get them and tear a boot I hate to wait a week for them to ship me one.

Thanks

420 FE A 420FE 2A difference

When ordering parts I see these two models but am unsure of the difference. I have looked at model identification in the manual and see no reference to the A or the 2A, I would guess it was a production switch mid year, any help would be great. I know the bikes should be almost identical but am sure one day I will order the one part that only fits the other.

Sportsman belt above secondary

2000 sportsman 500 ebs

Relative complained about creeping so im rebuilding the drive clutch. I also noticed the belt rides about 1/4" above the secondary. Every cvt system ive worked on calls forno more than 1/8". I took the secondary apart and there are no middle shims. Shouldnt the ebs secondary have shims to adjust belt deflection? Looking at the online diagram, the ebs secondary doesnt show optional shims but the none ebs does (#15 and 16).

Predator 50 – Won’t Start!

Hello,

New here (first post), I’ll apologize in advance if this is posted in the wrong area.

I am working on a friends 2005 Predator 50, and for the life of me I cannot get the thing to start…

Here’s the long story:

He brought it to me roughly a year ago to get it running after it had sat for a while. Easy enough, I went through and cleaned out the carb, replaced the spark plug, fresh gas, yada yada yada. After freshening up, it started first kick and ran great.

(**Note – Electric starter has a separate issue so I’ve always resorted to the kick starter).

Fast forward to now, same story. He asked me to go through and get it starting again. I’ve now cleaned the carb 3 times, gas, spark plugs, everything all over again, but it will not go.

-Has spark, new spark plug.
-Carb is clean,
-Carb is getting fuel, no obstruction from fuel line/source,
-Can visibly see fuel on the spark plug after attempting to start and pulling plug.
-I do not have a compression tester, but all signs point to strong compression, and the cylinder head gasket is in great shape.
-I pulled the exhaust and ensured it is not obstructed with mud, bees nest, etc (after reading another post here).
-Pulled the flywheel and cleaned mud/dirt that had accumulated, just for peace of mind.
-With exhaust off, and rolling over the kick start, you can see the fuel mixture leaving the exhaust port.

Here is one issue, that maybe I can get a thought on.

The battery is dead. BUT, I’m still getting spark to the plug with the kick starter which makes me believe the battery does not need any charge for the engine to run correct? This should eliminate any electrical issues right?

Any help you may have would be appreciated! Thanks!

2007 Outlander Max 400 Winch kit

I managed to find a used winch mounting bracket (there are about 3 pieces) based on the parts diagrams for my 400. They are the same bracket mount kit that come on the XT’s right up to the 800’s.

I am looking at the parts diagrams trying to figure out where all the pieces go and I might eventually figure it out by a lot of trial and error, but I figure I’d ask on here if anyone knew of a manual or any help on where the parts go.

I am not sure if it is a Warn mounting bracket or if it is BRP bracket that can accept different winches.

Either way, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
