Fuel in drive enclosure

I noticed that my bike had a fuel leak by the overwhelming smell of fuel in my garage. So I pushed the bike outside and could see that fuel was draining from the overflow vent with the check valve. So I suspected that some piece of crud was stuck in the float needle valve. I couldn’t get to it right away so virtually all the fuel drained out. When I started working on it, I thought I’d try to run the engine and see if vibrations and fuel flow would allow the debris to pass and allow the float needle valve to seat properly again. I filled tank with Stabil/Gas mix and started the bike to drive it around at some wide open throttle runs. But bike wouldn’t move. Its like the drive belt was barely engaging and would just barely move the bike in forward or reverse. I wondered that night after I had quit working on the bike if gas had gotten into the drive enclosure. So I searched the ‘net. Nothing. Today I started the bike to allow the air movement through the drive ventilation system to try to dry the enclosure if some fuel had gotten inside. When I reved the engine gas came pouring out the vent exhaust. I pulled the drain plug and I’m sure a pint of gasoline poured out of the enclosure, maybe a quart. I haven’t pulled the cover off yet. I’m dumbfounded at this discovery. I think I must be lucky not to have caught the drive on fire as I reved the bike trying to get it to move. Fortunately I didn’t do it for long as I feared I’d ruin the drive belt, so maybe I didin’t get the belt hot enough to cause a fire/explosion.

Has anyone ever heard of this?

New user here. Had to post to see if anyone has experienced this before. Must be leaking around gasket somewhere.

Renegade flipped and now burning oil.

My brother has a nearly new 2015 500 renegade. Last week we were riding tight trails with banks on both sides. Long story short, he flipped his quad on its side very slowly. It was on its side for maybe 30 secs. We flipped it over and It was fine for the next 20 miles of riding.

Fast forward to yesterday, We went riding again. After the few miles, we were going on a fairly steep hill and all the sudden his renegade just starts smoking white which was for sure burning oil. We checked the oil and it was a little low but it was still like a 1/4” below the low line. On the way back to the trailer, It had a red light blink for 5 sec and then he said it locked up the tires and it bogged down and then quit, Which I am assuming was the motor entering a limp mode. We towed it back to the trailer. We started it when we got back and the motor sound completely normal. No ticks or knocks.

My question is, why would the oil take 25 miles to start burning? And also does the motor have a low oil level sensor to tell the motor to go into limp mode?

Thanks guys!

2016 Outlander 570 L LE

Looking for advice on snow plows. Looks like everyone likes the Alpine, just wondering what other options people are going with. Currently it shows unavailable on canam site, and it’s pretty pricey.

Also, can anyone tell me what kind of frame I have? G2, G2L etc..

Thanks in advance.

PDF for 2001 Grizzly 600

I need instructions and specs for my 2001 Grizzly 600. I have low compression and was told that I may have a bad piston ring…or maybe a broke timing chain..or maybe something else. So in my search for someone to repair it I have found no one who is able to want to repair it. With that said I intend to try myself. Does anyone have the pdf for a 600?

2004 Honda Foreman 450 S

I just picked up a Honda Foreman 450 last Thursday loaded it right up and brought it to this past mudfest all day Friday it ran perfect wasn’t stalling ran a lot of mud but after letting it sit for a while it wouldn’t start, noticed there was a little water in the air box drained it drained the oil fired right back up then I put the air box lit on and it would stall out only running with the air box lid off you can see some gas shooting out of the intake tube, one of my buddies said it’s getting too much fuel
i was told it has a dyno jet kit, it’s also snorkeled, where do I start?

Black Friday deals?

I haven’t really pay’d attention to it in the past, but was wondering if you guys knew of any places that typically offer Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals.

I’m specifically looking for some skid plates and Heat Demon hand warmers. It looks like forum members used to get a discount from Ricochet in the past but I can’t find anything on it now. I’m also curious about the Iron Baltic HDPE skid plates. The price is good and they would be a lot quieter than aluminum. Any thoughts on the Iron Baltic ones?

Thanks

New from Ottawa Ontario

Hello all, I recently joined this forum and just bought a slightly used 2016 Grizzly last week. Seems to be a nice machine, once my new trail pass arrives I’ll get to try it out a bit more.

I guess I should also add I’m looking to do some clutch mods for the 27" tires. I picked up 1.5mm worth of spaces and the purple EPI spring. Was thinking of adding those along with 4 14gram Kodiak weights. Does that seem reasonable? The bike is going in for the compression spring recall next week so I’d just get the dealer to install everything then.

I’d attach a picture but I don’t have enough posts yet.

Cheers!
