Help upgrading Outlaw 90

My girlfriend’s son has a 2007 polaris Outlaw 90. She wants to do some upgrades for Christmas and wanted some advice.

Could we put bigger tires on it?

The brakes seem like pure shit, are there any options to improve them?

What is recommended to improve the performance?

I’m only looking for bolt-on options

Starter relay?

Weird issue. Quad fires up, but will not stay running. You turn the key to On, injectors and fuel pump fire up, dash comes on like normal. Turn the key to start and it fires right up, but as soon as you return the key to On it dies.

It takes forever to get it to stay running. No error codes, no batttery lo, nothing.

Once you eventually get it to keep running it runs great, strong, no issues.

Happens when cold or hot, but seems a little worse when hot. You can turn the key and it will crank over and start and hit the throttle and get it up to 3500rpm or whatever, but the second you release the key, it dies…

Eventually it will stay running but it is a real pain in the butt.

Any ideas? Is it something as stupid as a starter relay or something?

Riding opportunities and ATV laws in New Zealand?

The wife and I are looking at the possibility of moving to New Zealand for a significant amount of time, and are looking at things like climate, economy, gun laws, ATV laws, natural disasters, and things like that.

I did a search for New Zealand here in GC and found a couple guys and learned a little bit from their posts, but am wondering if someone can go into more detail about NZ as it pertains to ATV riding.

Obviously you’re going to have a lot of beaches. But my preferred type of ATV riding is mountain trails in wooded areas. How much ATV riding like that is available in NZ?

Is it set up in designated ORV parks, or are there just trails that run through the wilderness?

Here in Washington State in the US, if you drive more than 15 miles, chances are you’ve crossed a political boundary into an area managed by a different government entity with different rules on where and when you can go and what you can do. Is it like that there as well, or is all of the riding under one management umbrella? The whole country is about the size of Washington State, so it seems like it could be under one umbrella.

What about riding an ATV or SxS from camping areas directly to the trails? Riding into town from camping area to grab groceries and gas? Riding from one trail to another?

In general, is the place ORV friendly, or is it a constant battle to keep conservationists from shutting you down?

850 2013 xp wheelie

Hello, Did some wheelies today at my friends house. He has a 2013 850 xp and I have a 2016 570. We had a very hard time trying to wheelie the 850 which is in great shape (under 500 miles).

the 570 is mine and after doing alot of wheelies on mine I tried his. First I noticed the suspension is softer on his ride, throttle seemed less snappy and I could not get the wheels off the ground.

Is it a torque difference? weight? some thing else?

Just seemed weird it has twice the hp but it would not get up easy. His father could do it he is a very big dude though.

Denali plow spring question.

I got my Denali plow put together and bolted on today to make sure it all fit and was ready to go. The only thing I didn’t see in the instructions is any recommendation on how tight to put the two springs on the plow? It has a long threaded bolt and two nuts for each spring so the tension could be adjusted. Is there a recommended amount of tension on the springs or should they be loose, and just tighten the nuts enough to keep the springs attached??

Honda 2006 350 Rancher Doesn’t know what gear it’s in

When I first got the four wheeler I just put a new battery in it which was like 3 weeks ago and it ran fine! Until just recently my friend took out the carb to clean it because it had trouble idling, after that it would even turnover it would just keep crank but wouldn’t actually run then 2 days go by and I go to check it then it wouldn’t even start, at all.. someone told me it was the solenoid because I could place a wrench on both of the terminals if the solenoid and it would crank! So I bought another one and it still won’t crank! Another thing I notice is that it’s a electrical shifter on the handle, and the display doesn’t know what gear it’s in but the reverse red light is on and the neutral green light is on idk what’s wrong with it tried everything…I have checked the angler shifter or angle sensor and don’t really know what I’m looking for?.
