Alright guys so here in the DFW its just now starting to get cold to where it might freeze overnight. This will be my first winter with my ATV so I was wondering if there was any special treatment you guys might suggest me doing? I would like to ride if there ever is any chance of snow or anything. Is there any antifreeze I should be using or will any general one work?
So twice now I’ve had issues with either rocks or mud getting in between my rim and sidewall on my front tires and causing flats. I run the air pressure a little low especially in the rocks, so gonna boost the pressures back up a bit to see if it helps. Will tires with the rim protector help prevent this? In my mind I can see it helping since it appears that they kind of cover the rim edge itself, but would rather put it out to those who may have the experience with it before I drop coin on new tires. Also recommendations on tires with the rim protector? Thanks.
Well Christmas is close and I don’t have ideas for gifts for the family so i figured I would see what you guys have. Post something you really are happy you bring everytime ( gps ect.) or something clothing wise you are glad you have (special boots or pants ect.). Try to post a link or picture of what it is. Hopefully everyone can add to there own lists of things they want from this if it catches on.
Wasn’t sure where to post this. Did a search but, all threads are really old.
I’m looking at buying a Sena headset was leaning toward the smh 10 only because the reviews I’ve seen have been good and headset seem reliable. But I like the 10r which is the newest one low profile with Bluetooth 4.1 instead of the 3.0.
Anyone have used or had any experience with sena?
I just like the idea of being able to keep track of everyone.
The other guys I ride with are puchasing also as soon as I research it! Some friends. Lol thanks
Let me preface this unfortunate series of events. It starts with the fact that I had to borrow this ATV, because I stuck my mower into the pond at the house… I’m a Honda sport quad guy by nature so I’m a little behind when it comes to the Polaris side. I pulled the quad out of the barn this weekend to use it to clean some fence rows while I had it. I let my wife ride it around the pasture while I got my saws ready, I got a call from her that it had died and she couldn’t get it to move. I walked out there and sure enough it wasn’t wanting to move, she had it and low gear and drove it for about 30 mins. I was able to get it back it back up to the barn in low gear, but full throttle. The machine (to my ears) doesn’t seem like it’s hitting the full rmp a overhead cam motor should. This carries across in high low and neautral. It doesn’t sound like the limiter when it’s in reverse, but just sluggish. I checked fuel flow to the carb, tore the carb down and checked the jets, the drive belt seems to be ok no threads showing but is galled on the contact areas. I’m at a loss here, my gut is telling me it’s fuel but with the electronics that are on the unit I suppose that could be a hold up.
Curious question; Was looking at the front rack Sportsman 570/450 Tough Rack Front | Polaris ATV but it says the fitment isn’t for the the touring model, but will fit the one-up… same front lid, but the only option for it is the rack extender Sportsman® 570 / 450 H.O. Front Rack Extender- Black | Polaris ATV
Obviously, it looks that extra holes will have to be drilled to fasten it to front lid with either machine, but does anyone have an opinion to what works best? Was thinking that the front rack would offer ways to better secure items that fit between the bars, but would the rack extender work better overall for a retaining area…? Thanks!
