91 250x needs help

Greetings to all! Please forgive my lack of computer skills if this has been discussed, I could not find an answer. My son got a 91 250x and 2nd gear sounds like teeth are chipped, it came with a 2002 300ex motor with unknown problems besides a broken case Cover. Question is can I use tyranny parts from 300 to fix 250? Or any other combination of parts to make one good motor? Thank you.

Are Polaris ATVs really that bad?

So I just bought a new 2016 Polaris Sportsman 850 SP Touring. I’ve come across a lot of complaints and reviews online of defects, bad design, constantly breaking down, etc.

For you Polaris owners out there, what has your experience been like?

I have less than 25 hours logged and after reading the reviews, seriously thinking of selling it while I can before I run into issues. Maybe buy a Japanese quad instead.

Winch wiring

Hi everyone I have a Viper 3000 winch and I had a buddy of mine install it 2 years ago. I did not have any time to do it at the time. He installed new wires to the switch and mounted a relay type device in the back storage compartment. it’s been working fine. The only issue I have had was water got into the storage compartment last winter and started to corrode to connectors.

At the moment I’m doing a lot of work on my bike I have all the plastics removed and I can see that there are wire tails sitting there that I can hook up a winch to. They are marked specifically for a warn winch. My question is can I just rewire to this factory setup, or is it just specificaly for abwarn winch?

thanks

TRX400X jetting with slip on?

Greetings and Happy Turkey Day!! I just acquired the HMF comp slip on exhaust. I ride in a range from 1000-5000 feet. Bike is bone stock. From what I have read, it looks like a 42 pilot and 155 main jet is prob the way to go if I don’t want to keep swapping the main for elevation. I don’t want to take my airbox lid off as the areas I ride can be rather wet and/or dusty. Does anybody have experience with jetting for just high flow slip on exhaust and that wide of an elevation range?

Horse Haven Landing Strip

Most of northern Idaho has amazing riding, endless camping, anything one could possibly want to do on a bike, atv or sled. The landing strip at Horse Haven is a blast! So much to explore and amazing views. If you haven’t visited the area I would suggest giving yourself at least a week to be able to check out at least some of it. If you want more info feel free to hit me up. I know the area well.

Grease In Primary Clutch

I’ve been scowering the internet for days trying to figure out why; Kawasaki’s, Polaris, Suzuki all have a similar setup with primary clutch, but ours is greased.

What is the significance of the "Special Grease" in our Primary Clutch?
Has anyone ever De-greased and ran greaseless without Greaseless weights and slides on the cam plate?

I can’t get a straight answer anywhere, and really just want to know the signficance of the grease in the Yamaha’s and why the other model’s don’t have it.

I’d much rather not have grease. . . but if it’s necessary, then so be it.

😀

My bike is an 2006 Kodiak 450. (Clutch is in my backseat of my car until I get a straight answer LoL)

Plug and Play LED Headlights

Just thought I’d share since some people seem a bit confused about which LED’s or HID’s to buy. Just got this set from ebay for my 2014 renegade 800 They shipped really fast (to canada), are 100% plug and play, waterproof, and have 3 yr warrenty. Bought them on sale for 20% off..

NIGHTEYE 60W 9000LM 9005 HB3 LED Headlight Kit Hi/Lo Beam Fog Light Bulbs 6000K | eBay

Pics of box, didn’t take a pic of the actual led out of the box but you can see it on their website, has the exact same plug as both g1 and g2 bulbs. Went for 60K (30 watt ea) and you do have to buy two sets of two. 6000K looks the nicest imho as well..

My blue halo’s are the blue tint you see, the Led’s are very white with almost no blue.

Stock lights

LED’s

They’re not so much brighter as they are much clearer and sharper. Wasn’t the best reference photo but you do notice a huge difference in light when outdoors.. I’m 100% happy and guess next step is to see how long they last :clapsmilie:

Noise in Clutch Housing Grizz 600

Hey all, I’m still wrenching away on my Grizz. I have it running and driving now bit have this odd noise still in the CVT side of the engine. I’ve replaced the wet clutch, one way, primary sheave, outside of the clutch plate that’s splined and belt. It sounds like it’s on the transmission side of the CVT. Here is s quick video. I didn’t tear apart the secondary when I https://youtu.be/R5-wcPoCCSs

Anything you all can suggest? I’m going to pull it apart and see if maybe it just needs some grease somewhere..

Thanks
