issues with atv

I got this avt about a week ago been doing a lot of maintence on it
I think I am done with that but I notice I have a grinding when I put in high gear I am holding brake while engaging?
also I notice that you have ti hold reverse button all the time or it will stall out I ridden other Polaris atv’s and not had this problem
any ideas?

Rear rim replacement/upgrade

My son has a 2013 420 Canadian Trail Edition which has the independent suspension in front and rear. My question is that I am changing his tires to 26x8x12 on the front and 26x11x12 on the rear. What Honda 12" rim do I need for the rear? Part number would be great. Someone was talking about the offset being different for the solid axle vs. the independent suspension. Hope someone can help

Sportsman 400 Prop Shaft

I’m looking to swap out the whole prop shaft assembly on my ’05. Dealer quoted ~$700 to replace (bad u-joints), but I can get the OEM assembly for ~$200 and do the work myself.

I can tap the front retaining pin out, and tap the shaft back to remove the assembly from the front diff no problem… but I can’t seem to get it to come out of the tranny.

Doing some more research before I just tried the Hulk method of forcing it off and maybe breaking something, I see conflicting writeups, some saying there is a pin holding it on, some saying there isn’t… I can’t see a pin for the life of me, just the grease fitting.

Do I just need to hit it harder and go crazy with the penetrating oil, or am I missing something?

Thanks!
