I’ve actually already hi jacked someone’s thread(sorry, it was an accident) and Shadetree pointed me in the right direction:biggrin:
I recently purchased a near mint(in my eyes) 1997 Honda TRX300 2wd and while searching for answers to questions I had on the internet, I happened upon this forum:)

Helmet fit
Never had to buy an ATV helmet before now… The circumference of my head fits a size Large on all helmet fitment charts, my wife a Medium. But when we put on the appropriate sized helmet, and it fits great on top, it crushes our faces. I would say that I have a round face and maybe that’s why, but my wife has a slender face and a medium helmet crushes her cheeks. It’s not "painful" per se, but pretty damn uncomfortable. Is that how helmets are supposed to fit when they are brand new? I went to an ATV store and tried on 3 different brands.. been a size Large my whole life and had to put on XL’s so they weren’t so tight on my cheeks, but then they looked way too big and had a little wiggle room. I’ve read all of the safety suggestions and fitment recommendations, I just want to hear it from a human. Do the cheek pads compress more and fit less snug once broken in? Do I just quit whining and suck it up because thats how they are supposed to be? Thanks.
Paint over decal
Has anyone painted bedliner over plastic with a decal on it ?
I hate removing decals. We removed a stripe on a 21 foot boat, both sides.

Fox Air Shocks on the Limited
Can anyone tell me their experience with the pneumatic air shocks on the rear corners of the Max Limited 1000?
I understand they have been in production for about 4 model years. I think the Outlander is the only ATV that offers them. They require a small onboard compressor to air them up or bleed air off. They raise rear ground clearance and stiffness of the suspension.
Are they effective and are they reliable?
I note the Max XP model uses those fancy Fox adjustable shocks.

92 fourtrax 300 4×4 shifting questions and issues.
Hello everyone.
I just bought another four-wheeler. a 92 300 4×4, it has a 54% gear reduction installed and was told it also had the ecb dirt racer clutches installed. I have yet to open up the case or anything on this bike. My problem is this. When I have the bike in neutral and kick it down into reverse it immediately goes into gear and the lever stays down, I have to manually pull it back to center. When i go to shift up through the gears it immediately goes Into gear when I pull the lever up and I have to push it back down to center to shift again or to down shift. It does this in every gear be it shifting up or down. The bike pulls hard so the clutch isn’t shifting and there is no weird sounds. I have read that there is small fork spring that returns the shifter. I guess that is broken but what about the going into gear as soon as I shift? My red 93 shifts normally and the motor is all stock.

Thank you everyone. Sorry if this is a redundant question or something but I don’t know so I’m asking.
Thanks
Clutch springs
So I have a 2017 outlander xmr 1000r, I’m new to the scene of modifying a Wheeler but I am mechanically inclined. I’ve been looking at charts for the springs and I see all these numbers and no idea what they mean. I’m trying to get more torque out of my machine and figured a clutch kit or new clutches would be the way to go. Issue I’m having is I have no idea what would work best for my machine. I assume since it’s n xmr the clutches are already beefed up and figured I could get away with a kit, but nobody offers a kit specific to my machine since it’s new. I’ve looked at Dalton and they’re still testing the xmrs to find a proper kit. I’m trying to add enough torque to be able to stand my machine up(wheelie). She weighs 990lb dry weight, it has the stock 30"gorilla silverbacks. Any information you guys can give would be greatly appreciated.
