What’s the correct offset (aftermarket)

Hello! I’m looking into aftermarket wheels for my 2016 Scrambler XP 1000. I have gotten 15 different answers, so I thought I would ask the most knowledgeable people. What is the correct offset for my stock wheels? What is the correct offset to order to stay stock width? I know I need 14" wheels, some say 6+1, others say 4+3, a wheel dealer is telling me 4+3 is stock. Any help would be great. I’m looking at the Sedona Riot Wheels.

Laughter is the best medicine

After coming off a several year mental funk, and once again seeing humor in life, Thinking maybe we should have a funny story thread.

Post anything funny, link as much allowed funny stories from other places, or tell funny life stories that you know.

Some are better story tellers than others, if you ever get a chance to ride with Ridgway, be sure and hang after the ride, he is a world class story teller.

And, I promise not to attempt any goat humor on this thread.

96 Fourtrax 200 froze brake cam

Newbie here. I bought a 96 200 fourtrax for the kids that have no brakes. When I pulled the rear drum there was nothing in there and I realized the brake cam was frozen. I have never fooled with brakes on atvs but what I did realize is they no longer make that brake cam so I need some advice on how to get it out without damaging it. Thanks in advance.

660 starter question

hi guys, I’ve got an ’04 660 and when I start it, there’s a groaning sound when it fires up for a quick second after I take my finger off the start button, then it’s gone. I heard that my starter could spin even after it fires up, and they tell me it’s not serious if I fix it soon. Any thoughts?

Can Am XPS Oils

Just getting ready to do my first oil change and want some clarification if possible. This is not another what lube to run thread.

I’ve read the manual and know what my machine (2017 850 XTP) calls for, I’m also aware that a lot of guys here run Amsoil, Royal Purple, Rotella, or Mobile One.

So I go to the dealer to pick up a filter as I’ve always ran OEM filters and was planning on running Mobil One but he talks me into buying their oil change kit for $60.00. I woke up this morning with huge buyers regret and plan to return this as I have not yet opened it. His claim was it was designed specifically for the machine, he then went on to say something about the engine has wet clutches that require this oil, what the hell are wet clutches in the engine?? I should have walked out right there but for some reason I bought it.

Can you guys confirm or not, is there something in the XPS oils that is a benefit or is it all 100% marketing BS. Their diff/gearbox lube is like $33.00 a quart, WTF. I assume the XPS oils are just repackaged mainline oils or is this stuff really different?

Fan not working – 08 Sportsman 500

Hello once again,

I’m back with a new issue, and really, I believe I just need help locating the components on the bike.

On Monday I was plowing for the first time this year, and the bike overheated before I finished my driveway; the overheating has happened before, but not so soon. I checked, and noticed the fan wasn’t spinning at all.

Did some research online, and found a thread related to a 2011; experienced similar issues, and traced it back to a circuit breaker (SSCB) that needed to be replaced. On the 2011, he said it was near the battery, under the airbox. Does anyone know where this would be on a 2008?

From the service manual, I tried to do some of the trouble shooting, but the draw test can’t be done because the fan won’t come on, even with the heat sensor disconnected. I plugged the fan directly into a 12V, and it spun without issue.

At this point, from what little I know, I’m guessing the issue is in the relay or the SSCB? I think I know where the relay is, and I’ve pulled it to look for corrosion (none). I suspect there is a way to test it was a meter; if anyone knows that process, it would also help.

I took some photos of what I could locate to confirm I’m looking at the right parts. One is of the heat sensor (I think, please confirm). The other is of a SSCB, its located close to the ECU and relays, up front. Not sure what this one is for.

I grabbed a photo of two SSCB’s that are wired into a red line coming directly from the battery, towards the back of the bike. Well I thought I took the photo.. What would these be for?

There is a winch on the bike (probably a given because I was plowing). It also has the 3-light mod and reverse override mod, but I don’t believe either of those extend beyond the headlight pod.

Any help is greatly appreciated – hopefully I can get this sorted out before the next snow fall!
