My 06 Outy came w lighter version of the ACT and I liked them other than they were a bit weak. My experience w ITP tires were similar if not worse. U know the old saying I insert T tire P plug tires. Going to buy 25" Bearclaw HTR for fast woods riding and 27" in one of these for winter. What ya think?
Hi, new to the forum. Recently purchased a new 2017 570. I want to put the front and rear brush guards on my Sportsman, but I’m wondering if the Polaris trailering cover (fitted) will still work if I put the brush guards on? Anyone have any insight on this? Thanks
New user here. Haven’t been riding these machines for long as an adult. Did my fair share of trailblazing on some no-name quads and dirtbikes as a kid, but can’t wait to actually start working on one.
Recently acquired a scrapyard Honda TRX200SX that I’m going to be rebuilding as my winter project so the wife has something to tear up the desert with! Looking forward to getting to know everyone AND my new toy a bit more! See y’all in the maintenance section!
1994 sportsman 400 4×4. I cleaned out the carb, put in a new spark plug, new air filter, fuel filter, replaced the fuel lines.
I start the atv and let it idle for about 5 minutes. When it is in neutral, if i give it max throttle, the engine gets to about 5400 rpm and then seems to stay around that reading. If i keep the throttle pressed, it seems to climb above 5400 up to maybe 55-5600 or so. This might be normal but seems kind of strange.
Idle-max throttle- climbs to 5400 quickly-hangs at 5400 for a few seconds- climbs a few hundred more- wont go any higher.
Is this normal for this machine?
Also from idle rpm of 700, at what rpm should the clutch engage where the atv starts to move from a stop?
Just Bought a 2017 Sportsman 570 touring Sage . Really excited to pick it up next Monday. I got rid of the Sled and I’m now looking forward to year round fun . Any other Mitten dwellers can point me into the direction of some great scenic trail riding let me know. I’m from the Muskegon area .
hey guys, been on here for a little while but i think this may be my first post. Hopefully some of you are familiar with this particular machine as it was a goofy transition year to the 05. I did a 3 headlight relay mod on it and i discovered it has a load shedding ground which basically reduces power to the headlights when the battery voltage is low (engine not running) by supplying some voltage to the headlight ground, via some little electronic box under the ecm from what i’ve read so far. So here’s my problem, because of this backfeed, my relay will stay powered on sending power to my low beams after i shut the machine off, but not always. I’m thinking i could put a diode in the path to stop the backfeed or just ground everything to the chassis and bypass the load shedding ground altogether. Has anyone bypassed this thing? any issues with charging if lights get full power all the time?

Only have 148 miles on them. Set of 4, no rims, tires only.
26×8-14 front, 26×11-14 rear. They still have the rubber tits and center ribs between the center lugs.
No plugs, patches or sidewall cuts. They only have a few small chunks on the heel end of the center lugs from downhill braking. Other than that they are perfect. I can text or email pics.
$150
Was wondering what others are doing to modify the racks. Haven’t been impressed with the 570’s plastic racks so far. I need a way to extend and secure. Hauling game on a stock 570 sucks. Any suggestions or pics would be great. Homemade racks anyone?
I recently purchased a 2007 TRX420FE Honda Rancher in excellent condition but it seems that the odometer is faulty. It does change but it seems like you have to go 10 miles to increase the odometer by one mile. Strangely, all the other lights and indications appear to work fine. Speedometer works properly. However, pressing the display toggle/reset button does nothing. Display is set to odometer and cannot be toggled to hours or anything else. I want to unplug and replug the display connector but I can’t get my hands on it and I’m not sure how to disassemble the display housing if I were to replace the combination meter/display. The manuals I have don’t really discuss it and I can’t find anything online. Right now I can buy a new display meter for around $130.00 but I hate to spend that money if there is a simple fix out there that someone has discovered. Has anyone had this problem? If I have to replace the display, does anyone have any helpful tips on how to go about it? Any tips on how to disconnect and reconnect the connector to the display meter, or how to get to it? Any help is appreciated!
