1994 400l cdi

Acquired a 4X4 400 this summer. Needs a CDI. Can not get one for a machine this old. Can a guy patch a newer unit into this machine and make er work? The machine runs like a scalded cat but has trouble with the idle and the engine shutoff will work when it wants too.

Rear Pinion Seal Issue

Is there some trick to getting the rear pinion seal out?

The one on my diff is metal with a rubber center, but I noticed on the new G1 diffs they look to be plastic. Are the early G1 pinion seals pressed in? And if so are there any tricks to getting them to come out?

Thanks.

2013 sportsman 500 HO electrical issue

Just bought a used 2013 sportsman 500 ho, this is my first 4×4 quad. Worked fine for a month and battery went dead and nothing would power on. Changed battery and while tightening the positive terminal, my wrench touched the ground and made a spark. I turned the ignition on for power to my lights / winch and my winch powered fine. When I go to start the engine, the 20amp main fuse blows now. I replaced the main fuse and it again blew when I attempted to start. I’m new to all this so much help is needed and very appreciated. Don’t really have the money for a expensive dealership visit.

Terra 45 wont freespool

Ive been running my Terra 45 for a couple years on my grizzly and now it will not go into freespool, the knob will not budge. It has been through water, mud, sand, grass, so that is most likely why it is stuck. How do I go about getting it apart and fixing it, any help is appreciated.

Oil Change problem on ’04 Sportsman

I decided to change my own oil on my ’04 Sportsman 500 HO, thought it would be a nice afternoon project (mistake #1). My first problem was I couldn’t get the hose clamp off the screen fitting on the bottom of the tank, so I couldn’t get the screen fitting off to clean. Mistake #2, I took the hose clamp off the oil feed line into the oil pump. So now, according to the owner’s manual, I need to prime the system by clamping off the vent line on top of the oil tank. My million dollar question … how to I clamp that line, and how to I get to it? Do I really have to take off the front storage rack and the hood panel? An oil change shouldn’t be this difficult!
