Good G2 Outlander “Street Legal” Equipment Package

More states are making ATVs street legal. Our neighbor Utah did so in 2015. Street legal ATVs make the hobby much more appealing. There are restrictions in most cases, but they are quite liveable.

I want to purchase a package that would make my Outlander Max street legal in Utah so I am already for Moab. Here is what I need in addition to what comes standard on the Outlander:

1. License plate bracket with a white light above it.
2. Amber (front) and red (rear) turn signals with operating switch.
3. Horn with operating button.

The G2 Outlander comes with the other required equipment such as headlights, tail light, brake light, parking brake, spark arrester muffler, lighted speedometer, rear view mirrors (optional but dealer available). Interesting enough, Can Am has a "CE" machine specification that comes with horn and turn signals. Maybe this is required in Europe or other markets.

I would like an aftermarket package that integrates well with the Outlander, especially the turn signal and horn switches on the already crowded handle bars.

What package have you used and felt was a success?

Newbie with 570 sportman

Just picked up a 2017 570 sportsman.
I notice the header pipe glows red under light loads, as in 35-40 mph going down the road. Was told this is normal until engine gets broke in?
Been driving it fairly easy, no WOT yet.

Plan on using Mobil 1 synthetic 5w40 diesel oil. Is that OK? Or should I use the 5w40 for gas engines? Was told the diesel oil has been additives?

What oil should I use for the trans and front diff.
Was told to use synthetic ATF for the front diff? That OK?
What should be used in the trans?

I read to use Purolator pl14610 oil filter. But read there was a batch of bad filters going around? Something about the filter media tearing? Or did that happen a while ago and everything is OK now?

Thanks for listening to my newbie questions! I know these questions were probably all asked before, but I read so many threads that I know less now, then when I started! Lol

Looking to “Crank up HP” a bit, any suggestions?

Hi,

I have a 2003 carb Polaris Sportsman 700. I am looking to see what I can do to add some Power to my machine. I don’t trail ride with it, I use it for Utility work around my fishing resort. I haul and drag a lot of dock sections, boat lifts etc.

I am looking for any ideas or suggestions you guys might have to increase the Horsepower or power in general to make work like dragging boat lifts and such around a bit easier. So I am just wondering what you guys think I could do or add to it, short of a new motor, to give it some more power. I am not looking for speed, just power or torque.

I have not done much to it in the 6 or so years that I have owned it. Just regular maintenance type things, fluid changes, u-joints and boots, the electrical system upgrade for that flawed one they put in at the factory and that’s about it. I am going to rebuild the Water pump area because I have some oil in my antifreeze and that appears to be the problem, that seal in there. I might start that tonight.

Also, a couple of things I have noticed with it is a clunking when taking off or moving slowly, I have read that they do have some normal clunking like that but not sure. After changing all the fluids I am also having a bit of a problem "finding" reverse. Before I used to just pop it in "R", now it seems to be touchy and I have to "feel" for it to get it into Reverse even if the display says I am in Reverse. A couple of times it even popped out of Reverse. This is the only gear this happens in.

Any help or suggestions you guys might have would be appreciated. I have been reading this forum for several years but don’t post very often lol.

cv axle or bearings

I have a 1996 yamaha big bear 350. The front right tire just spins whenever i’m going up hills, in muck or snow. It doesn’t grab, just spins and so the bike stays in one spot. On flat, dry ground I’m ok. Could this be cv axle or bearings… I know when I was in that position of staying still in the snow, I looked under the front and saw the cv axle on the right spinning along with tire, but on other side, tire was still (like good, I guess) along with cv axle. On the right side, just spinning away.

How to keep track of hours/miles

I should have asked this question at the very beginning when I joined the forum LOL but it never occurred to me at the time. How can I keep track of the miles or hours on my 2000 Rancher 350S? I purchased it on 3/12/15 and the engine had been rebuilt and all fluids flushed and replaced and a number of parts were also replaced, so it basically had no hours/miles on it. Since I bought it, if I had to guess….it might have 20 hours of use if even that much.

Just like any vehicle, I know it would be necessary to know this for maintenance. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
