DS90 X Electric Start Clicks

I have a 2011 DS90 X and it was turning over and now it won’t turn over and just clicks.

I removed started to see if the starter would rotate and it doesn’t. Seems like the click comes from somewhere else. I assume it’s a relay.

Anyone have experience fixing the electric start on these models.

TRX 90 Starting Issues

Hi Everyone,

Last spring I purchased an ’02 TRX 90 for my son. It always kind of started hard, but was manageable. I’ve tried to start it this winter and it won’t start. The spark plug was completely fouled out, so I changed it out, and added some Seafoam to the gas (gas was put in this fall). It still wont’ start – not even close.

When I purchased it, the guy said he rebuilt the carburetor. He was fiddling with the carb when I got there to pick it up, and initially had problems starting it, but after some adjusting he got it going.

I’m not very mechanically inclined. It looks like carburetors are around $30 or so. Should I try swapping it out? Or is it even a carburetor problem at all? I tend to think it is, because that’s what was messed with before I bought it. But maybe I’m wrong.

Are these type of problems typical for the TRX 90’s? My brother bought one of those Chinese knock off’s that he claims has a 110cc Honda 3 wheeler engine in it. It has electric start, etc. I’m tempted to cut my losses, get the TRX90 running, and sell it to buy one of the Chinese quads.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Burnt Mills Trail, PA

I was desperate for a ride and the weather broke to 55 degrees. Off I went. This trail is 7 miles long and NOT a loop. Had one section of 10" rocks for a 1/4 mile. Probably for drainage. I was able to get up to 53MPH in one spot but overall, it was ok. Some fast, groomed sections. I did the out & back, twice for a total of 28 miles. It was only an hour away, better than not riding at all! I was glad to get the urge out of my system……..for now.
