TRX450ES Electric shift problems

Hi got me problem I can not figure out. Here is what it does and what i have tried.
The 450es sat up for several years. I traded for it and cleaned the carburetor, got it started and run it around the yard with no problems shifting up or down. I noticed the speedometer registered 0 speed all the time and that it showed what gear it was in. I went out on our country road to test it out and the gear indicator went to — when I shifted to forth gear. so I checked on line for possible solutions and found out about the angle sensor and speed sensor. So I decided to check them out so since the speedometer read 0 all time i checked the speed sensor first. It checked 5 volts steady between green wire an r/g did not go down to 0 like the video I saw said it was supposed to when the shaft is turned. Between black and green got 12v. I went to salvage yard and guy took one off of a working machine said he had more of them in the yard but did not have time to go out and get it. I put it on and being a electronic tech by trade I check this one before completely installing it gave same reading 5v and not dropping when shaft turned. I went ahead and installed it thinking maybe my old bench volt meter (Analog type) might be lying to me. I know this meter puts more of a load on the circuit being tested. So i test 450 out again this time it ran and shifted out to 5th gear but would not downshift. Battery was low found loose cable(original battery charged up and starts engine but think it is weak). But I had to use the manual shift to get it back in neutral. Speedometer still reads 0. Can’t get another speed sensor till after the 2nd.
Has anyone had a problem with sensor not reading correct because of the CPU on display or the shifter control unit?

HELP: What Would YOU Buy?!

I’m a first time ATV buyer and have decided that I’ll be buying a used GRIZZ. I have narrowed it down to two bikes and would love to hear your feedback / input on what one to buy:

1) 2012 700 EPS w/ 1400 miles and winch. Good condition, second owner. $5,800.

2) 2014 550 EPS w/ 500 miles. Great condition, original owner. $6,400.

I’ll be mainly using the gross from trail riding so performance and top end speed is key as well as some light utility use. I originally thought the 2012 was a no brainer given the 700 engine but after doing more research, it looks like 2014 was a huge upgrade year for the Grizz. What one would you recommend? Do these seem competitively priced? All input and opinions are welcome, thanks!

Pics of front and rear factory cargo boxes for 2016 and up model

Before I bought it, I tried to find pics of the front oem box but literally didnt find anything that provided context as to what it looks like when mounted. It is crazy that Yamaha will go to the trouble of manufacturing it without marketing it or even showing it on the atv. Attached are images from my rig if anybody is ever interested or would like to know. I also received the front brush guard but it arrived dented.

Notice that the front handlebar headlight isnt functional now. I plan on installing 1 flood and 1 spot round led lights to the front of the box and simply reroute the power from the headlight. Guessing wattage wont be an issue since the halogen should draw more juice than an two round LEDs… dont quote me on that though.

Used 4×4, need help identifying parts

Hello,

Just bought a used wheeler. Found there to be an FMF exhaust/muffler installed.

I cannot find anywhere online that sells and FNF muffler for a Honda TRX420…Not even on the FMF website. I dont know if someone just modified the flange and attached this, but it does sound decent. Not too loud/crackily.

Also had some questions as to what you guys see in these pics. I had them install a winch and I think that is what is in the back compartment now….

And also, the previous owner installed a K&N air intake

Just wanted to make sure from the pic below there isnt any kind of modulator/power commander??

From everything I have been reading, it seems like the quick mods are Exhaust, Air Intake, and commander. Just wanting to find out, since it has the first two additions….

Thanks!

New home? Pic Heavy – Erie, PA

Hey everyone,

Long time Lurking, first time Posting…

Name is Brad, and I just bought my first Honda. Well second if you count my 91 Honda CRX dx. It was the first car that I ever bought. I still frequent the crxcommunity.com from time to time, but sadly sold mine back in 2014.

Anyway, I’ve grown up around wheelers, mostly Honda’s and Yamaha’s but now I finally own one of my own.

With a new house, and long driveway, we wanted something to plow the driveway with. Having a hunting camp about an hour away from home was also a large factor in why we went with an ATV instead of snowblower/tractor-plow. Something that will benefit us all year long.

I found the wheeler used, at a dealership.

2014 TRX420 4×4
Manual shift
EFI

Machine had 1000 miles on it, and was listed at 3995.00.

Had dealership add;

Warn Provantage 2500lb Winch
RM4 Rapid Mount Plow System
Moose 50" plow

Out the door price of 5200.00

Feel free to comment on price, I’d like to hear how yas think I did.

Also came with knuckle guards, an FMF exhaust, and K&N air filter that previous owner had installed, as well as Kenda Executioners.

I will make a new thread over in the modifications, I have a few questions about the exhaust.

Im also pretty good at photoshoping/editing images, so if you want to know what something may look like on your ride, send me a message and I’ll see if i can be of assistance.

-Take care

240V Electric Pressure Washer

Hello,
Has anyone ever found/used a 220/240V electric pressure washer?

There are 120V electric pressure washers that I have used, but they don’t quite have enough psi or gpm to remove real mud and dirt. They are all over the big box stores online and amazon. (I know you aren’t supposed to spray into the joints etc. )

It seems like you need just about 3,000psi and 2.4gpm ratings to actually remove dirt. I know what they are really spraying is probably less, those are just the ratings.

The 120V washers don’t quite cut it for washing off an ATV or car. So in my mind, it would be easy to find a ~230V washer from Australia/NZ that pulls the same amperage and more power, and therefore more psi and gpm. But I have looked all over the googles, and cannot seem to find a residential priced one. (On the order of a couple hundred bucks)

The only 220/240V ones I see are close to a grand and are commercial grade.

I’d like an electric vs gas so that I can store it indoors and not worry about the gas/oil/etc. Or having to worry about maintaining Another small engine.

It seems so obvious as a market need. Most of us have 240V somewhere for an air compressor, or saws, or dryers, etc.

Has anyone found or seen an electric pressure washer that was 220/240V that was reasonably priced?

Thank you!
