I carelessly rolled over my 2004 TRX500 4×4. As soon as it landed on its side it stayed running but an annoying ticking/ rattling started. It never stopped running and no noticeable damage was done. The rattle coincides with the rpm. It sounded like a valvle so I adjusted them to the recommended gap. But there was no change. Before the roll over this rattle did not exist. Has anyone ever experienced this after a jolt to the engine… roll over etc. Thanks for help.
2000 honda rancher 350
Ok get guys I’m new here so I need so help I have a 2000 honda rancher and the es quit working I have checked everything I no to check,i know the shift motor is good and I know the angle sensor is good. So here’s what it is doing it will shift all day long when you first crank it up and it’s idling but as soon as you give it a lil bit of gas it quits working the only way to get it to work again is to cut the four wheeler off and crank it back up and just let it idle,so any thoughts on what it is,do y’all think it’s the speedometer cable
Rock sliders for my 14′ 700
I custom made these rock sliders for the fact that I’ve broke the plastic around the foot pegs on both sides and they are holding up great so far only have 60 miles on them but I’m loving them. What do you guys think? May make more if there is any interest? Current project is rear bumper and custom front storage.
New 2015 Grizzly 700 ESP SE Owner…Thanks
Hey folks thanks in large part to many of you I am now the proud owner of a shiny new 2015 Grizzly 700 ESP SE. I am real clumsy at this Forum stuff so please bare with me. My poor ol 98 Sportsman 500 has seen better years so it was time for a new more reliable quad for the acreage chores, hunting and of course the odd summer ride. I’m an older unit with 54 yrs. run hard through me so my riding style is nice and easy but make no mistake I ride alone in rough and tough country and my quad is like a settlers horse would be to him at times I’m talking to it saying just get me out of this one and you will be with me forever…naturally the old Polaris will retire on the acreage with me it was a great machine and owes me nothing.
The largest reason to for me to join this Forum is to thank so many of you that offered information on these Grizzly’s I researched long and hard before I decided on a brand and model for my new quad but there is simply no other quad out there that came close to the owner loyalty that these Grizzly’s have and now I’m one of you. Again thank you all for the time and effort you all put in these posts and remember there are lots of folks on the outside of this forum using your awesome expertise everyday. Thank you all guys and gals and have a Happy New Year.

Referb mother-in-laws Big Boss
Maybe you will find this interesting or relate. My father-in-law bought this machine many years ago. When he passed it was used for farm work and the kids abused it. Time took it’s toll and several years ago it was abandoned under a tree. It was so far gone no one else was interested in bringing it back into action. . I wanted to save it from the junk pile so mom gave it to me.
It didn’t start, it didn’t stop.
The clutch cover had a rub through and had water in it. I cleaned the clutches and put a new style cover on, The belt was as narrow as a country road at 100 miles a hour. The carb and gas tank needed cleaning. The spring seat over the needle was not in place so the needle was floating. I replaced the tank petcock. The plug was fowled. I installed a new fuel pump and lines. After this it started and ran fine. Next was chain and sprockets, 2 master cylinders, 5 sets of brake pads, Brake lines, 2 chain guards, Lube, oil, filter. And a new set of wheels and tires for the front. with tie rod ends.
Now I think the last piece is the seat that I am having such a hard time finding.
This machine is a 1998 Big Boss 6×6 500cc.
I almost gave up when I took a compression check and it was only 75 pounds. lol
If no….. when we get it finished I will post pictures if you like ?
Did I mention how bad I need a seat or just the base?

Grizzly 550 fan relay
Went riding this week and had a fan issue. The relay for the fan sounded like it was shorting out. The fan would run a few seconds while the relay was clicking and then would shut off a few seconds and then start up again with the clicking. The fan shouldn’t have been running at all! I pulled the relay and it stopped running…let it sit and idle for about 10 minutes and it functioned like it should! Got it in my garage today and it wouldn’t kick on…as you are sitting on the quad, the relays are on the right above the key area…what are the three relays? Front is the fan, middle is fuel pump? It seems to work when you turn the key on while pump is priming. What is the back one? I pulled the middle and stuck it in the fan spot and fan immediately kicked on…just trying to educate myself! Is there sonething that would cause the fan relay to go out other than moisture or just wear? Quad is a 2011 550 with 9300 miles.

Salt Spreader for my 2017 plow rig!
Got this SP set up for plowing, got the power angle for the plow and put a salt spreader on today. The spreader came from Tractor Supply for 150.00. I had to do some quick fabrication to get it mounted on the back rack, the hardware that came with it was not going to work with the composite rack and extender. I got it mounted temporarily with stuff I had laying around to see if it was going to work out. Now I need to design a QD type mount so it can be removed quickly. I’m happy to say it worked great today, I dumped 50lbs of Ice Melt in the hopper and did my driveway. It throws the Ice Melt a good 10 ft on each side which is a little too much for my driveway, but never the less it worked good.
The product is a Buyers ATV Spreader, it definitely needs some mods to fine tune it. There are a couple things to fabricate/modify to make it work better. First there is no shroud to keep the material from slinging 360 degrees, I had to put a piece of plywood on the back bumper to stop it from making a mess. I’m going to cut up a 5 gal bucket and see if i can make a shroud with that. Next there is a lever that adjusts the amount of material that drops, you need to reach back and throw the lever that is mounted on the hopper mount. Kind of tough to do while keeping the wheeler moving to be efficient with the Ice Melt. I might try to rig up a cable and lever that is a little closer, maybe mount it on the rack extender. And last, it would be nice to be able to adjust the speed of the motor to make it throw a little shorter distance. Some type of weatherproof inline 3 position switch would do the trick i think.

If anyone knows of a decent switch to control the speed of the electric motor, please shoot me a link! By the way, the on/off switch plugs into the 12v Cig Lighter on the pod with an inline switch for on/off.
Anyway, sorry for the long post, just wanted to let people know my thoughts on the spreader, after some mods, I think it will be awesome!
