Hi folks! I’m a hunter /outdoorsman and a -12 grizzly 700 owner.
Find it a bit noisy when i driving thru the woods .. like to be as quiet as i can be..
any of you tryed to get it be not so loud? Also felt earlier that i heard some flapping noice from the belt area , but it looks the sound comes from some plastic covers vibratin at a certain rpm!
Like to try a extra muffler also.
Any other tips?
Some dampening in the intake area?
After pulling some great information from this board as a guest, I decided to take the time to join! I’ve been a life long Honda owner and from the Big Red, 350 Rancher to the 500 Foreman. I’ve put these machines through their paces hunting and fishing and they’ve rarely let me down!
Thanks in advance for sharing all your knowledge, its a great resource for all!
I’m having issue recently with the 4wd on my 2015 500FM Foreman. I had the ATV out hunting on a frosty day and after switching between 2wd and 4wd/lock a several times successfully, the 4wd suddenly failed to engage (while in 4wd). After flipping the switch several times and restarting the bike the 4wd engaged and I was able to get myself unstuck and out of the country.
Since then the ATV has failed to shift from 2wd to 4wd or vice versa. I have managed to engage and disengage 4wd several times after flipping the handle bar switch numerous times and turning the ignition off and on. The 4WD and Diff Lock indicators are now flashing continuously on the display (9 long and 1 short blink – error code 91 in the service manual). That said the error codes and possible solutions in the manual are vague at best.
I have taken apart the handle bar switch, it looks OK, no corrosion that I could see. I physically checked the relays to ensure they had not come loose, they looked OK as well, I can hear them click when I use the switch. I blew out the connector on the actuator and applied some dielectric grease, no corrosion or water noticed there. Finally, I removed the cover off of the actuator, I attempted multiple times to engage and disengage 4wd (50-60 times), cycling the switch and the ignition. The actuator engaged only twice during these attempts, repeating the process did nothing, it appeared to be at random.
Anyone have ideas on where to go next? I have called ~10 Honda dealers and none of them have seen this issue before, they feel the system is fairly "bulletproof". I think that it is likely an actuator issue, however at a replacement cost of ~$350, I thought it would be worth asking.
I apologize for the length of the post. Hopefully I have given enough information – Thanks in advance.
Hey all in the market for a new atv currently have a sportsman 570 and well I’m ready for a different one
I do a lot of trail riding and mudding so I will want to run either a 28" or a 29.5" mud tire
Looking at either the rancher IRS or the foreman IRS both have perks just can’t decide let me know what y’all think
…I’ve been able to put 7 miles on my new Sportsman 850 and it has spent the last 3 weeks in the dealership with an expected additional month.
Apparently they are waiting on the replacement side panel/heat shield. Offered to let me pick it up as long as I sign off on the fact that continuing to ride it posed a fire hazard and I could get burned.
First and last Polaris purchase for me. Next time I’ll look at Can Am.
Hey, anyone know if the polaris wireless winch remote will work on my 2017 scrambler xp 1000? I already installed the pure Polaris 3500lb winch but would like to add the wireless remote.
Hey guys, new to the forum. I’ve got a 07 Grizzly 700 with an electrical issue. Somewhere on it the position side is grounded to the frame. It’s been racking my brain cause, 1) can find it, 2) I’ve replaced the starter, solenoid, and battery, 3) it’s icefishing season and haven’t been out yet. Lol I got the machine used and it didn’t have the correct battery on to begin with. It was only 120 CCA. It’s got the correct one now. As for the solenoid, I fried the other one by trying to start it.
So does anyone have an idea where it could possibly be grounded? Is there a common place that happens? I just had knee surgery and can’t spend a lot of time out there looking.
Thanks in advanced.
