2009 Can Am Renegade 800 – Warn Winch
Well, last time I rode I was having issues with my winch making the low battery light come one so I went and got a new battery and put it in thinking that it was the issue. Today, same issue again and again. After reading many posts people say to run it at 4k while winching due to the computer thinking its drawing too much power and cannot charge at low rpms. While running high rpms it would still do it today. I have read several posts and some people suggested hot wiring the in-out switch direct to the battery? How would I go about doing this, since the wire for the key on power is very small. Currently I have it wired to 12v under the key. Any other suggestions would be appreciated, I’d just rather not have the light come on all the time since I tend to get stuck a lot…
So I’d like to purchase a super atv brake disk conversion for the 300fw. Do they give a discount to forum members? Are they good to deal with? What about replacement pads? I also live in Canada so I’m trying to find a cheaper way to ship here.

I have a 94 Trx300FW. It is a fresh rebuild from the ground up.
Here’s the list on the engine:
Bored .040 over with Wiseco piston/rings
88 cam and mild P&P
Twin Air filter
Super trap full exhaust
Carb is fully rebuilt and I had some exhaust pop on decel so I bumped up the jets to 128/42. I also had some spark knock before, or at least what sounded like it when I had been riding for a while.
Now, exhaust pop is gone but I’m still having some spark knock after it heats up, about 30 minutes of riding. No problem if I’m easy on the gas, but if I gun it, it’s definitely there. I’m running 87 standard pump gas. I feel like higher octane gas may help, but I also feel like if the pump gas was the issue I’d notice throughout my riding time.
The other slight issue is after it warms up at idle after a few minutes, it idles fine but bogs if I give it a lot of gas. Once it’s in gear and going it’s fine. Accelerates smooth and plenty of power. But in neutral it just sounds like it’s bogging. I feel like that more of a fuel/air mixture issue and unrelated to the other.

Just wandering who all has the rvs tune and if it makes the 850 run cooler engine temps? I see all the issues with melting plastics from factory set lean emissions. Maybe the rvs will be the solution? Anybody?

Hey all, I’m new to the forum and looking for an advice on picking a new Sportsman. Years ago I had a 02 Sportsman 500ho x edition and on 06 scrambler 500. Both were awesome machines that never gave any issues and had plenty of power or so I thought at the time.
Now I’m looking to get back in the game and I’ve found a few different options locally for a new machine.
All new machines
16 850sp (kind of a funky blue) for 8600 out the door
16 1000xp red for 10250 out the door
17 demo unit 850sp for 9000
17 demo 850 for 7800
17 570sp for 7500 out the door.
(All the demo units have under 250mi and full warranty and first service)
Mostly looking to use this machine for trail riding, elk/deer hunting, and plowing snow/ working around the yard. I’m sure the 570 would be more than enough power but I keep coming back to the 850 and 1000. Also is there any reason to pick a 17 over a 16 model?
