Looking at to buy first Can Am

Hello, new to the forum and Can Am. I have owned many Polaris products but never a Can Am. I am not brand loyal, I just have a Polaris dealer right across the street. I went to look at a Polaris Sportsman High Lifter 1000 today and was not impressed at all by the fit and finish of that $14,000 machine. So I am looking to try Can Am and want a XMR. But I can’t decide which model, Renegade 1000 XMR or Outlander 850 XMR. I really want a 1000 motor so that is why I am leaning towards the Renegade. I wish the Outlander 1000 XMR was on the short frame or that is the one I would buy as I tend to like the "utility style" quads. Any opinions on which one I should get? As some back ground, I ride all styles of trails so I do plan to get a second set of tires for trail use. Thanks

Newbie from Michigan

Hello everyone. New to Can Am/Bombardier, but not new to toys that either help me catch fish or haul deer from the woods. I just picked up a 2004 Outlander 330 4×4 for an engine rebuild project – listed locally as having "engine problems". Removal of the valve cover revealed the timing chain had slipped of the cam gear, so hopefully the damage is minimal. Either way, I always enjoy the challenge of bringing this stuff back to life. I’ve discovered some very useful information within the can-amform so far. I look forward to learning more from other members. If anyone has a similar machine to mine and wants to share some words of wisdom, please do. Thanks.

Front loaders and scoops wear and tear

Greetings all, first post and hope you guys can answer a couple questions.

I am considering my first ATV purchase. Looking for utility, and hopefully an all around workhorse. I am seriously sick of moving wheelbarrows of rocks, mulch, soil around my house and up all the slopes I have. Sooooo after much thinking I am torn between a compact tractor like the Kubota BX or an ATV with add on equipment. I know the tractor is a better tool, but I also know it ain’t gonna be fun afterwards like an ATV. I am leaning towards the Polaris 6×6 due to its dump bed and high towing ability. I don’t need to do stuff everyday, as I am a homeowner, not a ranch owner. Occasional home projects, and property maintenance, plowing, etc. I have seen the Wild Hare system for the 4 wheelers, but its way pricey. So if any of you have the add on front scoops I see that hook up to the plow frames, do they really put a lot of wear and tear on the front ends?? Do they even work, and if so, are they worth it?? And lastly, if you have there 6×6, how has it been for a combo work machine / fun machine?? Just want to buy once and buy right.
