I just picked up a 1989 (10th digit in the VIN as best as I can read is a "K") TRX300 2×4. Starts great but will only run if the choke is fully engaged or closed. Gonna get a rebuild kit and start with the Carb and do a bunch of general TLC and cleaning. Once it is running and riding it it wants to die if you don’t keep the choke lever all the way to the left. Rides great as long as you keep the RPMs up.
First order of business it to get it running better and more dependable. Then start diving into maybe switching this back to a 4×4. If any body can translate the VIN for me and let me know some more details of what the thing used to be that would be great. I only have a couple of pics for now, more coming.
