Back on July 4th my family and I had the opportunity to ride rzr’s with some new friends. Wow, fell in love!! What a trill and adventure on an awesome piece of equiqment. As soon as I got home I started looking and with only a few days later I bought a beautiful and well taken care of 2009 800. Great machine. Then not even a month later I purchased my son a 2014 170 from my friend. His daughter upgraded to an 800 so it was the perfect buy at the perfect time. 7 years old and I must brag, he drives it like a champ.
Well a couple weeks ago I went over the edge and bought a brand new 2015 900s and gave the 800 to my wife. She couldn’t be happier and I got more speed and shocks to suite my needs.
I went text book break in period. I know many of you have different opinions on this subject but i thought it wouldn’t hurt to play it safe. Made me a track around 5 acres of land and with every evening driving between 2000 – 5000 rpm listening to podcast and music to keep me from being completely bored. Hours built up and pretty soon I only had one more left. Thats when the doom surfaced.
roughly one more hour and I am ready to do the break in period service when suddenly I hear a terrible knock. Faster I go the worse it gotten. It would idle sweet as can be but then I noticed a huge lose in power and the knocking got worse. Before I could make it back to the trailer it cut out on me. Would not crank.
Now I have it loaded and taking it to the dealer tomorrow. My concern is my friend told me Polaris will do anything they can to say I did something wrong and they won’t warranty it. Has anyone else had a situation similar to this one? Any takes on what Polaris will tell me? Sure I’m frustrated at my brand new machine didn’t make it to 25 hours but I really hate for them to find some technacality where they inform me it will not be covered under warranty. I know if that happens I will turn my back from this fun adventure and never look at it again.
Thanks guys for any info and sorry this is so long
