Hi all, I purchased my first Honda ATV the night before last. A new 2016 Fourtrax Foreman 500 4×4 with manual steer and foot shift. I called around to dealers and searched websites etc. until I was familiar with the options. This would be my 6th ATV purchase but my first Honda ATV. Talking with this dealer, I asked what he thought of the power steering and if he thought I should opt for it or do they steer pretty easy anyway? He advised they do steer very easy on their own and power steering was merely a gimmick. He continued to tell me how he would work very hard to earn and keep my business and every single machine he sells goes through a rigorous check to be sure it was 100% when the customer gets it. Well, I was sold on that. He delivered the Foreman to me that evening as he was 70 miles from me and I committed to buying it over the phone. Once the papers were signed I took it down the road to the trail and realized the steering was way off, about 3 inches turned to the left to keep it going straight. The alignment was so far off it was difficult not to go into the ditch. I brought it back home and adjusted the alignment and got it pretty close. The next evening my son and I went for a trail ride about 8 to 10 miles. I realized about halfway through I should’ve got the power steering because it steers hard, unlike the dealer said. My son and I switched ATV’s for the ride back and I took the Suzuki 500 Quad Runner. Once on that I realized how much lighter that one was compared to this Honda Foreman. Today my shoulder and arms are aching like hell. I called the dealer and told him I wanted to trade this one and upgrade for the power steering one and he flat out refused. He wasn’t willing to do anything and I can’t even believe this dealer. He’s only been in business less than 2 years and I’m sure he’s not going to last long if this is his attitude. The machine wasn’t set up properly when delivered and no interest in working with a customer to make them happy. This dealer talked the talk but I later found out, he was all talk and nothing more. What do you guys recommend I do? Opinions?
