Just picked this up last weekend. Went to the dealer to get parts for my 08 800 and saw this beast sitting there. I just couldn’t resist. I take my 800 out on the river all the time and sometimes its hard to tell how deep the water is. Never had any problems with it though. Got water over the front rack once, but only found a little water in the air box. Reached under and pulled the plug and drained it and carried on. I don’t usually get in water that deep though so it shouldn’t be an issue again. However I have a few concerns with the new one.
First the vent in the back, (CVT Exhaust) anybody have any issues with it? Also where are the drains for the belt casing and the intake box? On the 800 I can pretty much reach in under it and pull a drain plug. The new one has has a lot more plastic covers and I cant find it.
I read that greasing the connectors is a good start, but any other suggestions? I thought about snorkels, but I don’t really like the idea of hacking up the plastics to install a snorkel kit.
