Need a quick answer

I am about to go on a trip to the mountains of Wyoming. The front tires on my 2005 Sportsman 400 are original Carlisle at489 tires and are "shot".
The rear tires are almost new (less than 300 miles of easy going).
I am considering Carlisle 489 X/L as replacements for the front tires. The 489 X/L is 1" larger in diameter than the at489’s. Can I use the larger diameter tire without causing any drive train problems with two different size tires, front vs rear? Since the current fronts are almost completely worn away, there is already a difference in tire diameters front to rear. What do you experts think?
