Did a complete rebuild and threw it back together.. To come to find out that the bike would only make it through the break in period before having more motor issues.. The hard starts and not running after getting up to temp combined with the high pitched squeak behind the primary led me to believe my main bearing was seized.
My thoughts were correct.. The main bearing on the pto cover side took a crap… All brand new bearings, pressed in, oil collector holes lined up, etc.
That being said I think that’s just my sign to let the thing go and move onto another bike. Probably looking at a 2012 brute force that was only ridden 4 times. Close friends of mine.
This is a great forum and has been helpful. I’ll chime in once and awhile. But I’m going to try and get this never ending mess fixed and hopefully sell it to someone who will have better luck than I have. Unfortunately the market for used renegades is not very profitable so hopefully I can get some decent money for it.
